| Reverse description | Ornate crowned heraldic shield displaying the quartered arms of Gonzaga and Montferrat, supported by elaborate foliate and figural mantling in a bold Renaissance decorative style. The shield is surmounted by a ducal crown and flanked by scrolling acanthus-like ornaments. The divided date 15–86 appears at the lower left and right of the shield in the field. The circular Latin legend ET MONTIS FERRATI I FIDES surrounds the composition, completing the obverse title and affirming the dynastic motto FIDES, which also appears prominently above the shield. |
