Reverse description A large crowned shield of nine-fold quartered arms fills the central field, displaying the composite heraldic bearings of the Gonzaga dynasty as rulers of Mantua and Montferrat; the quarters incorporate various dynastic devices including eagles, lions, bars, and crosses. The date 16-12 is divided by the shield, appearing to the left and right at mid-field. A continuous Latin legend surrounds the shield within a beaded border, completing the titular inscription begun on the obverse.
