| Obverse description | Draped bust of Alberico I Cybo Malaspina facing right, wearing armour and a prominent ruffed collar, with a short beard rendered in fine detail. The effigy is portrayed in a high-relief Renaissance style with carefully engraved drapery and ornamentation at the shoulder. The Latin legend surrounds the bust along the outer rim. The last two digits of the date (88) appear in the lower field, flanked by small stars, denoting the year 1588. |
