| 表面の説明 | The obverse features the Singapore coat of arms at center, depicting a lion and a tiger as supporters flanking a shield charged with a crescent and five stars, with a ribbon below bearing the national motto. The legend SINGAPURA curves along the upper arc in Latin script, flanked on the left by the Tamil inscription சிங்கப்பூர் and on the right by the Chinese characters 新加坡, both reading vertically in the field. The date 2014 appears below the arms, with SINGAPORE inscribed along the lower arc. The entire design is struck on a fan-shaped annular sector with interlocking puzzle-piece edges, characteristic of Singapore's Lunar series issues. |

Singapore's Lunar Series coins are struck by the Singapore Mint under commission from the MAS, and the 2014 Rooster issue falls within the second cycle of the twelve-year series — meaning Singapore had already produced a Year of the Rooster coin in 1993. The second-cycle pieces were produced in considerably lower mintages than their first-cycle predecessors, a reversal of the pattern seen in most national lunar programs.
