Obverse description The obverse features the Arms of Singapore centrally positioned in the mirror-polished field, depicting the shield charged with a crescent moon and five five-pointed stars, supported on the dexter by a lion and on the sinister by a tiger, both rampant. A ribbon beneath the shield bears the national motto MAJULAH SINGAPURA in Latin script. The country name arcs along the upper periphery in Latin script as SINGAPURA, flanked to the left by the Tamil legend சிங்கப்பூர் and to the right by the Chinese characters 新加坡, each reading vertically. The date 2004 appears in the lower field above the English legend SINGAPORE along the bottom rim, with the Singapore Mint mark visible at lower right.
