| Obverse description | The arms of Fiji occupy the central field, depicting a quartered shield bearing a British lion passant guardant in the chief, with sugarcane, a coconut palm, a dove of peace, and a bunch of bananas in the four quarters, surmounted by a traditional Fijian canoe as crest. Two Fijian warriors in traditional dress serve as supporters: the dexter supporter holds a spear, and the sinister supporter holds a tabua (whale's tooth club). A scroll beneath the shield bears the national motto in Fijian script. The legend FIJI • 2017 arcs along the upper periphery of the field. |
