The upper register portrays a luge athlete in full aerodynamic tuck, lying supine on a sled as it speeds down a track rendered with bold diagonal lines. The lower register features five short-track speed skaters in close formation, leaning dynamically into a turn with arms outstretched, helmeted and suited.
