| 备注 |
Movie prop currency occupies a legally ambiguous space in American numismatics. Under 18 U.S.C. § 474, reproducing U.S. currency at actual size on one side is a federal offense, which is why legitimate prop notes are typically printed single-sided, heavily overprinted with "MOTION PICTURE USE ONLY" or similar text, or deliberately miscolored. The 1976 $2 note is a particularly common prop target — the denomination's real-world scarcity made it useful for period productions needing something plausibly American but visually distinctive.
Collectibility depends almost entirely on the production it was made for and whether provenance can be documented.
