| Reverse description | A highly detailed high-relief composition depicting a sinuous Eastern dragon coiling dynamically across the upper field, its scaled body arching over a tranquil river scene with a traditional arched bridge rendered in the background. At the centre of the design, the dragon's clawed forelimb reaches toward a luminous pearl suspended in the water's surface, while a large koi carp leaps vigorously from the rippling water in the lower field, its scales and fins rendered with exceptional sculptural precision. The design carries strong symbolism drawn from East Asian iconography, in which the dragon and koi together represent power, perseverance, and good fortune. The Perth Mint's mintmark P appears in the upper right field, and the designer's initials WR are incused to the right. The reverse is otherwise free of peripheral legend, allowing the intricate pictorial scene to fill the coin's entire field. |
