Surrounding Moses in the lower portion of the field are several prostrate and awe-struck figures representing the Israelites, rendered in varying degrees of relief to convey depth and perspective. The entire composition is executed in a deeply struck antiqued finish, accentuating the sculptural drama of the Biblical scene.
