One of dozens of DC Comics licensing deals struck between Warner Bros. and small Pacific island mints seeking legal tender collector revenue, this Niue issue is bullion-weight silver with a nominal face value that no one has ever spent. Niue has operated this model since at least the 1990s, issuing coins under New Zealand monetary authority that function purely as collectibles.
