Obverse description Central effigy of Queen Elizabeth II in right-facing profile, depicted as a diademed and draped bust after the fourth definitive portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, whose initials 'IRB' appear below the truncation. The legend 'ELIZABETH II' and 'NIUE' is inscribed above the effigy in two lines, while the denomination '2 DOLLARS' and the date '2014' appear below, all within a plain rectangular field with rounded corners characteristic of a bullion-style ingot format.

Reverse description Full-color depiction of the Orthodox icon of Saint Sophia with her three daughters Faith, Hope, and Charity, rendered in the style of a traditional Russian Orthodox icon. Saint Sophia is shown standing centrally in a maphorion with an elaborate mandorla, her right hand raised in blessing, flanked by two of her daughters and with the third shown at her feet, all three daughters depicted in prayerful posture with their own halos. The surrounding field features finely engraved decorative floral and foliate borders in the Byzantine iconographic tradition. Small Cyrillic inscriptions identifying each figure appear beside the respective figures within the composition. The overall design closely reproduces the visual language of a sacred Orthodox icon, with color applied to the figures against a gold-plated relief ground.
