| 背面描述 | Ruthenium-finished field bearing a high-relief iconic depiction of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker (Svyatitel Nikolay Chudotvorets) in the Byzantine tradition. The saint is shown facing front, vested in episcopal omophorion and phelonion richly decorated with crosses, his right hand raised in blessing and his left hand holding the Gospels. A circular nimbus surrounds his head. To his upper left and upper right appear abbreviated Cyrillic inscriptions identifying him as СВ. ЧУД. НИКОЛАЙ. Flanking the central figure at a smaller scale are half-figures of Christ to the left and the Virgin Mary to the right, echoing the composition of the classic Nicolean icon. The lower arc of the field carries the Cyrillic prayer legend СВꙖТИТЕЛЮ ОТЧЕ НИКОЛАЕ, МОЛИ БОГА О НАС. The same ornate scrollwork border and quatrefoil cutout at the top as on the obverse frame the entire composition. |
