The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank serves eight island territories across the Lesser Antilles, and its commemorative silver program has leaned heavily on aviation history — a subject with genuine regional resonance. The seaplane connection is direct: flying boats operated by BOAC and its predecessors were the primary link between these islands and the outside world from the 1930s through the early postwar decades, long before paved runways existed on most of the smaller islands.

The colourization was applied post-strike, a common production step for this series contracted through external minting partners.
