Niue has issued novelty bimetallic pieces with organic cores before, but the juniper insert here connects to something specific: Saaremaa, Estonia's largest island, where juniper has been ecologically and culturally central for centuries — the island's juniper groves are among the densest in Northern Europe and have been harvested for everything from medicinal use to fence posts. The wood is not decorative filler. It was selected with deliberate regional logic.
