Reverse description The reverse is divided into two distinct halves, combining struck relief and full-colour printing. The left half displays an incuse gold-toned relief scene depicting soldiers in combat during the First World War, surmounted by the inscription '"BILL" JACKSON VC' and with a prominent rendition of the Victoria Cross medal bearing the motto 'FOR VALOUR' in the lower left; the date '25 June 1916' is inscribed at the base of this section. The right half presents a colourised portrait of Private William 'Bill' Jackson VC in military uniform, his medal ribbons including the Victoria Cross rendered in colour, with a smaller subordinate vignette of soldiers in the lower portion. The artist's monogram appears in the lower right of the coloured field.
