Cook Islands has issued commemorative silver under its own authority since the 1970s, and its licensing arrangements with foreign IP holders have grown increasingly eclectic. This piece is among the more unusual: Hatsune Miku is a Vocaloid vocal synthesizer product developed by Crypton Future Media and released in 2007, whose virtual performer persona has since accumulated a commercial footprint — concerts, merchandise, international licensing — that rivals many human artists.
The posthumous Elizabeth II attribution places this among the first Cook Islands issues struck after her death in September 2022.
