Obverse description Mature effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, bareheaded, wearing a necklace and drop earrings, after the portrait by Susanna Blunt. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs above, followed by the date, with the abbreviated title D·G·REGINA completing the inscription. The portrait is rendered in fine relief against a flat field, characteristic of the fourth definitive effigy used on Canadian coinage from 2003.
