| Reverse description | The reverse presents a gold-plated inner disc set within a polished silver octagonal field with identical decorative scroll embellishments at each corner. The central design depicts a large owl perched in three-quarter view, rendered in high relief with fine feather detailing, seated atop a bed of pine cones and foliage — a faithful reinterpretation of the obverse design of the original 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition $50 gold commemorative coin. To the left of the owl the inscription TWO OUNCES appears in two lines, and to the right .999 FINE SILVER in three lines. The circular legend PANAMA-PACIFIC INTERNATIONAL EXPOSITION curves along the upper border, with · SAN FRANCISCO · arcing along the lower border of the gold-plated disc. |
