Fiji's bullion and commemorative silver program expanded sharply in the early 2010s as the Reserve Bank leveraged international collector demand following the 2006 military coup and subsequent political isolation — foreign exchange from numismatic exports remained one of the few uncontroversial revenue streams during that period. These issues were produced under contract by overseas mints, as Fiji has no domestic striking facility.
