| Reverse description | Full-colour reproduction of the celebrated 15th-century Russian Orthodox icon known as The Holy Trinity, painted by the monk and iconographer Andrei Rublev circa 1411. The composition depicts three angels seated around a table, representing the Holy Trinity as they appeared to Abraham at Mamre, rendered with characteristic Byzantine stylistic conventions including elongated figures, golden halos, and a subdued ochre and blue palette. The colour image is applied to the matte silver field of the rectangular flan, faithfully replicating the original icon's iconographic programme and spiritual symbolism. |
