In script lettering across the upper field, the legend Orient Express appears in cursive style. At the center, a small circular emblem of the Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits is rendered in silver relief. The lower portion of the reverse features a dark horizontal band bearing the inscriptions FAMOUS EXPRESS TRAINS in bold lettering and 1OZ .999 SILVER beneath.
