| 背面描述 | Three-quarter length armoured bust of Oliver Cromwell facing slightly left occupies the left foreground, depicted with long wavy hair and a buff coat with gorget. Behind him, an elaborate military scene fills the field, featuring ranked infantry formations, cavalry, and conical campaign tents with smoke rising in the distance, evoking a Civil War encampment. A small engraver's mark (fish symbol) is visible to the left of the portrait. The curved legend OLIVER CROMWELL 1599-1658 arcs along the upper rim, engraved by Willem Vis. |

The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank has no historical connection to Oliver Cromwell — his inclusion here reflects the broader commemorative coin market of the early 2000s, when Caribbean island mints and currency authorities aggressively licensed historical figures to generate collector revenue. Cromwell's image on a coin is not without irony: he abolished the English monarchy, yet his own portrait had appeared on Commonwealth coinage during the Interregnum of the 1650s, making him one of the few republicans to achieve that distinction.
