| Beschrijving keerzijde | Full-color icon-style depiction of Saint Matrona of Moscow, shown in three-quarter bust facing the viewer, clad in a dark green robe and white head covering, her right hand raised in blessing and her left hand holding prayer beads. A golden halo with a red border surrounds her head, and a stylized rendering of a Russian Orthodox church complex appears at the base of the image. The surrounding border features an elaborate embossed silver filigree ornamental pattern in the traditional Russian icon-mounting (oklad) style. A Cyrillic inscription identifying the saint appears above the figure in pink lettering. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Matrona of Moscow — canonized by the Russian Orthodox Church in 1998 after decades of unofficial veneration — became one of the most visited saints in Russia almost immediately following her formal recognition. The queue to her relics at the Intercession Convent in Moscow routinely stretches for hours. Niue's involvement here is purely a licensing arrangement; the island's name on the coin is a passport to legal-tender status, nothing more.
