The legend 'ELIZABETH II' arcs above the portrait within the medallion, while 'COOK ISLANDS' and the date '2022' appear below. Part of Cook Islands' long-running program of fractional gold issues produced under license, these pieces are minted by the Bavarian State Mint (Bayerische Hauptmünzamt) in Munich and distributed globally through bullion and gift markets. At 0.156 g, the gold content is genuinely minuscule — enough to qualify legally as a coin of the realm, thin enough to require lamination between protective layers in most packaging formats simply to survive handling.
