| Obverse description | Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the fourth portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, depicting the Queen wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara with curled hair and a pearl earring visible. The legend 'ELIZABETH II' runs along the left rim and 'SOLOMON ISLANDS' arcs across the upper field, with '2 DOLLARS' descending along the right rim. The date '2016' appears in the lower exergue, and the engraver's initials 'IRB' are inscribed at the base of the truncation. The portrait is rendered in high relief against a deeply mirrored prooflike field. |

| Additional information |
Part of a broader Wildlife series issued by the Solomon Islands, which has no wild leopard population — the animal is entirely emblematic rather than native. The coin was struck by a private mint on behalf of the government, a common arrangement for Pacific island states whose own minting infrastructure is nonexistent. Solomon Islands has leveraged its issuing authority this way since the 1970s, producing collector pieces with little to no domestic circulation.
