| 背面描述 | Detailed portrait of King Henry IV in regal medieval attire, depicted holding a rose in one hand and a scepter in the other, with his armed troops arrayed in the middle ground and the Gothic facade of Westminster Abbey prominently rendered in the background. The composition conveys the monarch's authority and historical setting in a finely engraved scene filling the central field. The legend HENRY IV arcs along the upper rim, with the life dates 1367-1413 inscribed below. |

The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank issued this piece as part of a broader commemorative program honoring British monarchs — a curious exercise for a currency union whose member states were actively debating republican status in the early 2000s. Henry IV, who seized the English throne from Richard II in 1399 and founded the Lancastrian line, had no meaningful connection to the Caribbean.
KM#71 was not intended for circulation. Gold-plated copper-nickel in this weight class was a common formula for regional commemoratives targeting the collector market rather than any monetary function.
