Reverse description Three-quarter length portrait of King Edward I, crowned and robed in medieval regalia with an ornate chain across his chest, seated and holding a sword, rendered in high relief against a detailed depiction of a crenellated medieval castle with a flagpole and water in the foreground. The legend EDWARD I arcs along the upper right periphery, and the regnal dates 1239-1307 are inscribed in the upper left field. A small engraver's mark appears at the base of the design.
