| Obverse description | The obverse is divided diagonally into two contrasting fields: the upper half bears a right-facing diademed effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, whose engraver's initials IRB appear below the truncation, set against a polished mirror field. The lower half, rendered in a matte finish, depicts a stylised silhouette of a dove in flight to the left, with a finely detailed sculptural dove overlaid upon it facing right with wings spread. The legend NIUE ISLAND arcs along the left rim and ELIZABETH II along the right, with the denomination 2 DOLLARS and the date 2018 inscribed below the central design, and the fineness mark Ag 999 at the lower left. The Czech Mint mark CM appears at the lower right of the upper field. |
