Beschrijving voorzijde Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the fourth portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, depicted wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, positioned in the lower right quadrant of the coin's irregular owl-shaped flan. The surrounding field to the left bears the inscriptions '1 OZ' and '999.9 Ag' incused, along with a serialised edition number. The legend 'ELIZABETH II' arcs vertically to the left of the portrait, while 'SOLOMON ISLANDS' curves along the upper right and '2 DOLLARS' descends vertically to the right; the date '2020' and engraver's initials 'IRB' appear below the bust.

Aanvullende informatie

The Barn Owl is native to the Solomon Islands, but the Great Horned Owl is not — it's a North American species with no distributional or cultural connection to the Pacific nation. Solomon Islands has issued numerous wildlife-themed bullion pieces aimed squarely at the collector market rather than circulation, contracting with foreign minting operations to produce them. This coin is one of those issues: a legal-tender vehicle for silver investment dressed in exotic fauna, with the Solomon Islands imprimatur providing the nominal issuing authority.
