Obverse description The obverse features the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II in right-facing profile, modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley and bearing his initials IRB truncated at the neck. The portrait is set within a raised rectangular inner frame against a mirror-polished field. The legend ELIZABETH II appears above the effigy and NIUE below, with the date 2021 and denomination 2 DOLLARS inscribed beneath the portrait. The entire design is framed by an ornate geometric patterned border in relief, evoking the decorative back of a playing card.

Reverse description The reverse presents a richly coloured tarot-card-style scene depicting the High Priestess as a fortune teller, seated cross-legged before an open book and a circular spread of tarot cards arranged in a star pattern. The figure wears a jewelled headdress and purple corset, and holds a luminous crystal ball in her right hand. Surrounding her are lit candles, roses, a bird in a cage, an animal skull, and a large ornate clock face, all rendered in vivid full-colour enamel application. The Roman numeral II appears in a cartouche at the top of the inner field, and the inscriptions THE HIGH PRIESTESS and FORTUNE TELLER appear in the lower exergue, with 1 oz 999 Fine Silver noted vertically along the right border.
