| Obverse description | The obverse presents a right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the George IV State Diadem, a pearl drop earring, and a beaded necklace, rendered in high relief against a deeply mirrored black field. The portrait is the third definitive effigy by engraver Raphael David Maklouf. The issuer's name NIUE appears to the left of the effigy, with ELIZABETH II below it, while the date 2011 is positioned to the upper right and the denomination 2 DOLLARS together with the fineness notation 1oz 999 Silver appears to the lower right.
