The Eureka Stockade of December 1854 was a miners' rebellion on the Victorian goldfields at Ballarat, directed against colonial licensing fees and a near-total absence of political representation. It lasted roughly fifteen minutes as a military engagement but generated outsized constitutional consequences, accelerating manhood suffrage in Victoria by 1857. Niue's involvement is purely commercial — the territory has issued collector coins under licensing arrangements for decades, with no historical connection to the subject matter.
KM#3334 places this within a broader commemorative program targeting the Australian collector market.
