背面描述	High-relief antiqued reproduction of Gustave Doré's engraving depicting the Mocking of Christ, known as the Crown of Thorns. Christ is shown seated at centre, robed and bound at the wrists, bearing the crown of thorns, surrounded by a group of soldiers and figures who press the crown upon his head and gesticulate in derision. The composition is rendered with exceptional engraving detail capturing the dramatic chiaroscuro and narrative depth characteristic of Doré's biblical illustrations. The incuse legend CROWN OF THORNS appears along the lower right inner rim.
