Reverse description Central depiction of Queen Elizabeth II mounted on horseback in military uniform, raising her right hand in salute, the horse shown in a three-quarter facing pose with decorative bridle and reins rendered in fine detail. The equestrian figure occupies the majority of the field, recalling the sovereign's traditional Trooping the Colour portrait. A beaded inner border frames the design. The curved legend CORONATION ANNIVERSARY OF QUEEN ELIZABETH II arcs around the upper periphery, with the commemorative dates · 1953 + 1993 · inscribed along the lower segment, separated by a cross and flanking pellets.

Additional information

Belize issued this piece a full four decades after the 1953 coronation, timing the release to coincide with the 40th anniversary. By 1993 the country had been independent for twelve years, making the choice to commemorate a British royal ceremony a deliberate nod to Commonwealth ties rather than any residual colonial obligation.
