| Obverse description | The obverse features a large, highly detailed portrait bust of George Washington facing three-quarters right, depicted with his characteristic powdered wig, rendered in fine relief against a matte field. A circular arc of thirteen five-pointed stars frames the upper portion of the field. Inset within the lower left of the design is an incuse cameo-style medallion bearing the crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, with the legends ELIZABETH II and 2 DOLLARS flanking the portrait and COOK ISLANDS inscribed vertically to the right, with the date 2021 below and the engraver's initials IRB beneath the bust.
