| Beschrijving voorzijde | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, with a pearl drop earring visible. The portrait, rendered in high relief with selective gold plating, is the fourth definitive effigy by Ian Rank-Broadley, whose initials IRB appear below the truncation. The legend CAYMAN ISLANDS arcs around the upper left field and ELIZABETH II around the upper right, with the date 2003 positioned below the portrait along the lower rim. |

The Chelsea Flower Show has been held annually in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea since 1913, with the sole wartime interruptions of 1917–18 and 1940–45. The Cayman Islands issued several commemorative crowns in this period under licensing arrangements common to British Overseas Territories, where the Royal Mint or contracted private mints produced collector pieces with minimal connection to local monetary circulation. This coin never saw a Cayman cashier's drawer.
