Niue's legal tender coinage is struck under contract — the island nation itself has no mint — and these issues are produced almost entirely for the collector market rather than circulation. The "Capricorn" piece belongs to a zodiac series Niue licensed during a period when Pacific microstates were aggressively competing for a share of the themed bullion market, largely driven by demand from collectors in Germany, Poland, and Southeast Asia.
KM#594 is one of dozens of Niue-issued silver dollars cataloged within a narrow window around 2010–2012, when the series proliferated quickly enough that secondary market premiums collapsed on many issues within months of release.
