Reverse description The reverse presents a colorized depiction of a tiered birthday cake as the central design element, rendered in vibrant enamel tones against a decorative field. Surrounding the central motif, 'Happy Birthday' is expressed in eleven languages — German, Russian, Hindi, Mandarin, French, Japanese, Polish, Korean, English, Italian, and Spanish — arranged in an encircling inscription. The multilingual legends employ Latin, Cyrillic, Devanagari, Chinese, and Hangul scripts, reflecting the coin's internationally themed celebration. The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark appears in the design. The reverse was engraved by Natasha Muhl.

Additional information

Tuvalu has no independent mint of its own; this piece was almost certainly struck by the Perth Mint under Australia's long-standing arrangement to produce collector coinage for Pacific island territories seeking seigniorage revenue from the numismatic market. The country's entire land area is roughly 26 square kilometres, and coin production has never been tied to domestic monetary need.

The two-dollar face value is nominal — a legal fiction maintained to satisfy the requirements of Tuvaluan currency law while the actual commercial value sits entirely in the silver content and collector premium.
