| Obverse description | The obverse features a detailed high-relief scene depicting the biblical procession of the Ark of the Covenant being transported on a wheeled cart drawn by oxen, surrounded by a multitude of robed figures bearing trumpets, cymbals, and other instruments, rendered in finely engraved sculptural relief against a mirror-polished field. In the upper left, the diademed effigy of Queen Elizabeth II faces right, engraved after Ian Rank-Broadley's fourth definitive portrait. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper rim, while NIUE ISLAND appears vertically along the left border. The date 2013, the denomination 2 DOLLARS, and the fineness mark Ag925 are inscribed along the lower portion of the field. |
