Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, diademed and draped, after the fourth portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, centered within the leaf-shaped field. The legend ELIZABETH II flanks the left edge and 2 DOLLARS the right edge, both inscribed along the coin's curved border. The date 2015 appears in the lower field, flanked by two raised dots, with the engraver's initials IRB incuse beneath the portrait. The entire design is rendered in gold-plated relief against a matte field, conforming to the pointed oval (vesica) format of the flan.

Reverse description Full-color reproduction of a detail from the predella panel depicting Abraham and Isaac, attributed to the Florentine master Lorenzo Monaco (circa early 15th century), applied to the gold-plated silver leaf-shaped flan. The central scene shows the bearded patriarch Abraham, haloed and robed in flowing pink drapery, seated and accompanied by the young Isaac at his side, symbolizing the typological prefiguration of Christ's sacrifice. The surrounding field is richly decorated with intricately engraved gold foliate scrollwork interspersed with polychrome enameled floral motifs in blue and red. A bundle of wood or faggots with a flame appears to the left of the figures, alluding to the sacrificial context of the narrative. The composition fills the entire vesica-shaped flan, with no legend or lettering on the reverse.

Additional information

Niue's legal tender collector coinage is issued under a long-standing licensing arrangement that effectively outsources the numismatic program to private minting companies — in this case almost certainly New Zealand Mint or a comparable Pacific-region producer. The resulting pieces circulate only among collectors; Niue's actual economy runs on the New Zealand dollar.

The Lincoln connection places this within a broad wave of American-themed commemoratives that flooded the market after the 2009 bicentennial of his birth.
