| Beschrijving voorzijde | High-relief effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II facing right, depicting the sixth definitive portrait as sculpted for Australian coinage. The Queen is shown crowned and wearing the George IV State Diadem along with the Victorian Coronation Necklace. The surrounding legend reads ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA 2 DOLLARS, with the engraver's initials JC appearing in the field. The portrait is rendered with exceptional detail and depth characteristic of proof high-relief striking. |

The Perth Mint's Kookaburra series has run continuously since 1990, making it one of the longest-running silver bullion programs in the world. High-relief strikes within the series appear selectively — the added die pressure required compresses production runs significantly and accelerates die wear, which is why these variants carry separate KM numbers and are issued in strictly limited proof quantities rather than as standard bullion.
The selective gilding technique applied here isolates the kookaburra against the frosted field using electrochemical gold deposition, a process Perth has refined across several of its flagship proof programs since the early 2000s.
