| Description du revers | The reverse, engraved by Jennifer McKenna, presents a bold high-relief effigy of a laughing kookaburra perched atop a fence post, its beak open and head raised toward radiating sunburst lines that emanate from a rising sun depicted at lower right in the mirror-polished field. The kookaburra is rendered with exceptional feather detail and receives selective gold plating, creating a striking two-tone contrast against the proof silver field. The upper circumferential legend reads 'AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA', while '30TH ANNIVERSARY' arcs along the lower border. To the right, within the inner circle, the inscriptions 'JM' (designer's initials) and '2oz 9999 SILVER' appear vertically, with the Perth Mint 'P' mintmark at lower left. |

The Australian Kookaburra silver bullion series launched in 1990, making this 2020 release exactly three decades in. Perth Mint marked the anniversary with a high-relief striking — a production method that requires multiple die passes at lower speed and significantly reduces throughput per hour compared to standard bullion runs. The selective gold plating on the bird itself was applied post-strike, a finishing step that effectively removes these pieces from any conventional bullion-grading framework.
