| Reverse description | The Coat of Arms of the Commonwealth of Australia rendered in high relief. At centre, an escutcheon bearing a cross of Saint George charged with five six-pointed stars, surrounded by six subsidiary escutcheons representing the Australian states. The shield is flanked by the supporters: a red kangaroo dexter and an emu sinister, both standing on a grassy compartment. Above the shield rises a crest consisting of the seven-pointed Federation Star on a wreath, while a ribbon at the base carries the national motto ADVANCE AUSTRALIA. The design is evocative of the reverse of the 1910 Australian florin, with the upper legend ONE FLORIN - TWO SHILLINGS and the date 1910 appearing in the field. |
