Aanvullende informatie

The Year of the Ox issue was part of Perth Mint's Lunar Series II, launched in 2008 as a successor to the original Lunar Series I that had run from 1996. Series II coins were struck to a slightly larger diameter than their predecessors, requiring new tooling across the board. The 2009 Ox holds particular significance within the series as the first full-year issue — the 2008 Mouse having launched mid-series with some design adjustments still being finalized.

Mintage for the two-ounce silver format was capped at 8,000 pieces worldwide.
