Aanvullende informatie

The Year of the Ox coin is part of Perth Mint's Lunar Series II, launched in 2008 as a sequel to the original Lunar Series I that ran from 1996 to 2007. Series II retained the two-ounce silver format but moved to Ian Rank-Broadley's fourth portrait of Elizabeth II, which had been adopted by Australian coinage from 1999. The Ox is the second animal in the twelve-year cycle, meaning Series II collectors who started at the beginning faced a twelve-year commitment to complete the set — a deliberate commercial structure Perth Mint has used with considerable success.
