| Obverse description | The obverse bears the fourth portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara and a pearl drop earring, as modelled by sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley. The queen's bust is shown in high relief with finely detailed hair and neckline drapery. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper left rim, with AUSTRALIA and the date 2018 along the right rim. The engraver's initials IRB appear in small characters beneath the truncation of the bust. |

| Additional information |
Issued to mark the centenary of the Armistice that ended the First World War on 11 November 1918, this coin was part of a broader Australian commemorative program acknowledging a conflict that claimed over 60,000 Australian lives — the highest per-capita loss of any Allied nation. The pad-printed colour application, done after striking, is vulnerable to wear and handling damage in a way standard coinage is not, which makes uncirculated examples the only practical collecting target.
