| 背面描述 | The central device depicts a kookaburra (Dacelo novaeguineae) perched in three-quarter view on a eucalyptus branch with foliage, rendered in finely detailed high relief against a mirror-polished field. The engraver's initials 'SA' appear below the branch, alongside the Perth Mint 'P' mintmark. The legend 'THE AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA' curves along the upper periphery, while the inscription '2004 2oz. 999 SILVER' runs along the lower arc above a beaded border. |

The Australian Kookaburra silver bullion series launched in 1990 as Perth's answer to the Kangaroo gold program, with the defining feature that the kookaburra design changes every year — a deliberate policy to drive collector demand alongside bullion buyers. The two-dollar face value is nominal; these were never intended for commerce.
KM#884 covers the 2004–2005 production window, during which Perth was aggressively expanding its international bullion distribution network into Asian markets. Mintage figures for this period were not always disclosed contemporaneously, a practice Perth maintained for years to sustain secondary market tension.
