The "Sovereign of King George V" subtitle references the Perth Mint's 1994 decision to restrike — in bullion silver — a design commemorating the original 1910 gold sovereign issued when George V acceded to the throne following Edward VII's death. Perth had been striking sovereigns continuously since 1899, and the 1910 issue marked the first year of a new effigy on that colonial gold coinage. The 2-dollar face value is purely nominal; these were sold at bullion premium from issue.
KM#261.2 distinguishes this from the standard Kookaburra bullion release of the same year by the sovereign privy mark applied to the field.
