| 背面描述 | A Wedge-tailed Shearwater (Ardenna pacifica) is depicted in dynamic flight, its wings fully extended as it skims low over stylised ocean waves rendered across the lower field. The bird is shown in fine detail with feather texture clearly delineated. The species name 'Wedge-tailed Shearwater' arcs along the upper periphery in a curved legend. The denomination '$2' appears prominently to the left of the bird in the central field, and the date '2004' is inscribed in the lower exergue. The design is enclosed within a beaded border. |

The Cocos (Keeling) Islands briefly operated its own plastic token coinage between 1977 and 1980 under the Clunies-Ross family, who had governed the atoll as a private fiefdom for over a century. After Australia formally absorbed the territory and bought out John Clunies-Ross in 1978, those tokens were eventually demonetized. This 2004 brass piece is a fantasy issue — produced for the collector market with no authorization from any governing body and no circulation history whatsoever.
